Some said M16 = engine 1.6L This -- it's a 1.6L GDI engine. I'm all for putting cooler, foreign name plates on the car (Avante instead of Elantra) but putting I'd thought about this mod about a year ago but decided against it -- it seemed sort of like if someone put the "V8 AWD" badge on a two wheel drive, V6 version of an Explorer or something. Anyway, welcome to the club. Is that a pinstrip on the side? It actually looks pretty good that way IMO. The car's looking good and it's cool that you're using the garage feature. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

I thought it was a 1.6 L? And yeah, that's a pinstripe down both sides.

Right -- 1.6 litre GDI engine. Not sure about what M is, but like others said before, the 16 relates to the 1.6 L (16 deciltres, if you want to explain away the missing decimal point) and the GDI is Gasoline Direct Injection.
Here's a Hyundai Worldwide page that talks about the engine. It's also available in a 1.4 L version as well as 1.6 MPI. So making some custom badge that said "N18 MPI" would be cool (N for Nu, perhaps). -------------------- A proud member of the club.

i was actually planning on re-badging it, but for the front grille area that doesnt sound too bad at all. i think since i ordered the diffuser, my next project will be exhaust and a cold air intake. I'll probably wait until i need new tires before i look at rims, not too sure yet.

Thanks! the led trunk smile and bumper reflector leds will be here today! I should have them installed this week. Ill post pics once they are good to go. If you haven't done the reflectors yet, I have some suggestions based on experience with mine/Lou's. - When cutting the old reflector, I cut around the sides with a Dremel. Lou cut through the back with a hot knife. Either way won't show once installed, but one problem with going in from the back is that if you go too deep (easy to do) you can mar the front of the reflector. Also, it makes the back of the reflector where the PC board sits not so flat. I just epoxied mine back together. - I would recommend drilling a hole for the wires, even though there's a hole in the back of the reflector. The problem is that the hole doesn't line up with where the wires come out of the back of the PC board, so you end up pinching them. The problem with that is that the PC board doesn't lay flat (is "humped" where the wires are). This then seems to cause problems with some LEDs then not lighting, which you don't know until you get it all back together. Here's a picture of what I mean: At some point in the future, I need to redo mine this way since I have three LEDs out on each side. -------------------- A proud member of the club.
