I love my HD, there's only two issues with mine. When it gets really cold out the back window pane seems to creak or rattle for a while until the inside of the car is warmed up which isn't a problem in the spring or summer but it can get annoying in the morning in the fall and winter. The second problem is my battery is dead and I need to replace it. That's not the HD's fault but I don't have a job so I don't really have the money for a battery.

I don't know how much the FD is like the HD, but I like the Touring we've had for the last year now.
Have only 40000 kms on her so far.
She doesn't get out much, which is good.

Have been consciously keeping an eye on the tranny, as I've read on many issues with the FD tranny. Not sure if the HD uses the same.
We do get the occasional rpm surges, but nothing serious.

My only issue with my HD is the steering has a weird knocking feel... I can't seem to figure out what it is, but only happens when at low speeds and I'm making sharp turns.... The car is very reliable for me, no major problems just standard replacement of fluids and ware parts... except for my front end links, but that happens.
