I have a tan interior in my 2013 Elantra and was wondering if anyone knew of a good upholstery cleaner for general dirtiness and if there's a way to remove a piece of dried up chewing gum from the back seat. (Kids!)

Hey-I think putting an ice cube on chewing gum so it freezes makes it easier to remove it from upholstery.

For the gum, try some ice. Let the ice sit right on the gum till it gets brittle. It should come right off with some scraping.

As for the upholstry cleaner, I've used turtle wax power out upholstry cleaner. Works pretty good and has a pretty good smell.

For really really stained interiors which I had when a passenger dropped a moca ice coffe onto my rear seats - I own a Rug Doctor - those extract tons of dirt and junk.

You could rent one though.

Can of air, sprayed upside down will shoot a jet of extremely cold air (better than ice cube and also almost no moisture) and then scrape.

If you own a shop vac, that and any reasonable upholstery cleaner will do the trick nicely, otherwise a Rug Doctor rental is the best bet if it has gotten to that point. I would also consider Scotchguard...

For easier messes, try the Tide-to-Go pen.

I agree with freezing it then breaking it off in junks, repeat until gone.
