Alrighty all, here it is, the complete OE-supplied Kenwood listing for the XD/XD2.
Head Units:
00271-84000 Black Kenwood H/U, unit/remote only, MSRP $460
00271-84001 Black Kenwood H/U, complete+04XDGT door housing, MSRP $480
00271-13000 Silver Kenwood H/U, unit/remote only, MSRP $388
Install Kits:
00273-13000 doorless housing [see pics below], MSRP $16
00271-84004 04XDGT door housing, MSRP $39.50
00273-03000 Wiring extension adapter - harness-to-h/u, MSRP $10
Speaker Sets:
00271-14002 XD front speakers 6.5", MSRP $97.50
00271-14001 XD hatch rear 6.5", MSRP $97.50
00271-14000 XD sedan rear 6x9", MSRP $114.50
Note on rear speakers: Hyundai uses a connector similar to the rear trunklight's for rear speakers. Hatch spkr set, at least, comes with the front door connector in most cases. Easiest conversion for it is to get some 14-16 gauge, or 10-12 gauge uninsulated spade connectors, remove any/all plastic, and solder them in place of the stock speaker's connector. Front doors are completely plug n play.

Thx a lot man!
are these the same kenwoods that go kaput after a few years/?
i'd like to play mp3 cd's... but has hyundai ever fixed that problem everyone was having?
The black kenwoods are the same as 04GT stock, and Tiburon SE stock. That is the one that had the problems. The silver one, I have never ehard of having the TOC error.
this is a great reference, thanks gecco! i'm pinning this thread. (i edited the title also).
added pics for the speakers, and 04XDGT DIN.
Just contributing in my own way, SPB. Glad to share!
With great thanks to the new 06 Accent, it appears that I may be able to expand this thread to include Hyun-Wood genuine iPod adaptor, p/n 00271-06001 with a retail of 130$ or so, and a possible future XM Satellite kit [no p/n's yet, but hopefully soon]
Just wanted your opinion, a guy I work with has a tib, which has the kenwood headunit, and he mentioned he is going to be getting a tv/dvd player to replace it. (so if he wants to sell his kenwood headunit, I would consider buying it, or just buy my own aftermarket headunit) I'm assuming if I buy the installation adaptor for the sonata (not the wire harness which I would also need, but an adaptor to make a smaller headunit fit into the large area where the current radio is, which I saw one on the internet somewhere) that the kenwood headunit would fit? I'm not sure if there is a Hyundai OEM part for this installation unit? I didn't see one on hyundai parts online, but maybe I was looking in the wrong place.
the XM kit is out bro. check that new flipchart they sent you with the 06 acc.

Oh, nice. Our manager has that in his office, but has been away a bit and hasn't broken into it yet. Us underlings always get gypped.... hmm....maybe a boxcutter and some stealth..... broke in there and duly distrubuted materials. There is a new 220W Kenwood MP3 deck, p/n 00271-06000, retail $400.00. Siruis ready, HDRadio ready, and the XM kit to come.
As for the NF Sonata and the deck install...I don't believe we've put out one of those *yet*....since the H/U is rather integrated w/the dash...I could be wrong, see above for proof
I am rather curious as to the iPod kit, and it's pricing... so we shall soon see...
This is where I saw the installation kit (also where I got the wire color codes when I was trying to install my amp and sub . . . .unsuccessfully) http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.jsp?query=sonata+radio+harness+2006&page=1&offset=1&result_url=redir%3Fsrc%3Dwebsearch%26requestId%3D52bf94825b5cc49c%26clickedItemRank%3D4%26userQuery%3Dsonata%2Bradio%2Bharness%2B2006%26clickedItemURN%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.metraonline.com%252Fdownloads%252Fpdf%252FTurboKits%252FINST99-7320.pdf%26invocationType%3D-%26fromPage%3DNSCPResultsT%26amp%3BampTest%3D1&remove_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.metraonline.com%2Fdownloads%2Fpdf%2FTurboKits%2FINST99-7320.pdf
single and double din installation kits are available for the NF
I put AVN30-D and Kenwood navigation flipouts in them all the time.

This comes up from time to time: Use this link to download the http://docs.kenwoodusa.com/CarManuals/OM-KDC-X569-2003-KUSA.pdf for the Kenwood model KDC-MPV622 for the 2004 GT.
Kenwood iPod controller for Kenwood decks:
Note to all: HMA has been raising pricing on most every part due to inflation, over the past few months, almost every month. Pricing stated is relevant to the time posted, no guarantees are made after approximately one month has passed. Sorry bout that!
gawd, if it all didnt cost so much, i would just upgrade to that right now!
If you do a Froogle search for Kenwood iPod Interface you can find them for a lot cheaper. Go to froogle.google.com and search.
If you want more detailed specs straight from Kenwood check out http://www.kenwoodusa.com/products/ListProduct.aspx?k1=2&k2=19&k3=58&pr=1847
EDIT: Just realized Kenwood doesn't give you much info. Check out http://www.cardomain.com/item/KENKCAIP500 for better info and reviews.
whats the kenwood model #? not the hyundai part #... but if i were to look on ebay for the front speakers would i find anything? or do i have to go through hyundai? i would like the direct plugin.... if not i'll look for something else
Im talking about the front speakers..... sorry i should have clarified that. im looking for the model# from kenwood on the speakers that would be a direct plug in. i saw a thread a while back that someone upgraded their speakers and just pluged in. cuz i bought a pair of speakers but the mounting holes didnt fit. if anyone has upgraded thier speakers let me know what kind and model #. thanks
Sorry for getting back to you so late. I don't think tt the hyundai kenwood speakers are sill available through the audio retail business...they were KFC-1369ie speakers, I do believe.
Noted difference between the silver and blackfaced kenwood units: Blackface and silver both have two sets of rca preouts, but only the black has the option of making the rear outs non-fading, and has built-oin dubwoofer volume control through these nonfading rear outs.
Since this comes up occasionally, I thought I would consolidate some posts from another thread in terms of trimming out aftermarket head units. Since a couple of the options are to use the Hyundai Kenwood mounting parts, this seems to be the best place for the information:
The opening in the dash fascia may be too small to include the bezel that comes with your aftermarket unit, but large enough to leave a gap around the detachable faceplate. There are several options here:
1. If you don't worry about the untrimmed area, it will look like http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23&view=findpost&p=67285:
2. Trim out the unfinished area. I had some foam tape that was about 1/16" thick which I put on the perimeter of the head unit *before* putting the fascia and faceplate on. The foam was pressed under the fascia at the outer edge and when I put the head unit face on, it compressed the foam slightly on the inner perimeter. When I had it this way, it looked like the following picture. Other things besides foam could be used including electrical tape, black construction paper or cardboard.
3. Buy the 00271-84004 OEM unit (about $40 at a dealer or online). My Pioneer unit fit perfectly except that there are small tabs that stick out of the unit (I think for security purposes) that I bent over... then it fit perfectly. It looks like this:
4. There is a more affordable OEM option that trims out the area but omits the door- it's part number 00273-83000. More information about these kits can be found in http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5792. The doorless kit looks like http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23&view=findpost&p=64739 when it's installed:
Note: This post was largely copied from posts I made in http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6582 thread.
Updated info:
2006 XD GT kenwood radio, part number 00271-06000
Model: EZ-500H3
Here are the owner manuals online:

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/languages/US/support/manuals/OM-EZ500-2005-KUSA.pdf
As far asw the speakers go, they look very similar to the KFC-1679ies I have sitting on my bookshelf. Mine are aftermarket though, so no hyundai pin plug and adapter ring.
