I bought my little 2003 GLS brand new & it has been trouble free. Well my kid got into a head on collision (see pix) and the car is history. The good news is with the cars travelling at 45 mph, everybody walked away with minor scratches. (Great little car) I am looking to replace her with a 2001 to 2004 and was wondering how many parts would I be able to use from the GLS if I were to find a decent GT?

I would appreciate all feedback as I am looking at listing to replace this car for my kid now.

Thanks All!

Glad everyone had no more than minor injuries! I was amused, based on your question to see an 05'ish GT photobombing the crash picture.

Your question is the reverse of what most tried to do by using GT parts to make a GLS a little nicer. Just about everything was interchangeable though. The GTs got leather, blue back lighting on the guage cluster, alloy wheels, and possibly a sportier suspension.

LoL I didn't even notice that! My GLS was a great little car, but from what I see it will be a great source of parts for the GT as the 03 GLS was completely restored by be a few years ago. Unfortunately in Tenn because they do not have state inspection, finding a decent 2001-2003 is nearly impossible (and the prices were ridiculous). I had to run 200 miles into North Carolina to get one in clean shape for under $3k

Here is the 2002 GT I picked up. Now the fun begins to do it all over again!

Glad everyone was OK.
Everything will swap over 100% between the 2 vehicles. '04+ has a few things that would not interchange, but '03 to '02 is the same.
What parts are you wanting to swap?

The swapping is more "just in case" I will be disassembling and storing the 2003 GLS parts for future repairs. (I've already used the rear structs & downstream O2 sensors).

Things like misc sensors, ECU, engine/trans swap (the red one has 159K miles) front brakes, cat etc. Things like the rear doors, trunk glass & interior will be sold off.
