I was saddened to see that this website will be online until the end of the year at most. After finding out the news, I wanted to give a shout out to all of you. This site has been a great resource for me and you all have helped me a lot with modifying my car. When I first posted here in Sept of 2008, I had a bone stock 2004 Elantra. Now, the car has been made into something better than it was when I first bought it. Thanks again for the help everyone. I wish you all the very best.

That was nice to hear. Believe me, I don't want to shut it down. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep up with all the software updates due to money challenges and now many areas of the site are broken including registrations. We lost the garages and the reviews and the DIY's.

Even so, I still feel like this place is special.

Bravo to Mitch for giving us a place to hang out and swap car information, tell bad jokes, laugh at ourselves and just generally have a cool place to be on the old internets for the better part of 15 years. It's been a great run, there have been some really high points and some low ones, and for the most part we came together when the need arose to cheer each other on.

Hopefully some of the essence of the Club will continue on the through the FB page, but alas it's just not the same. The richness of information is too great on a forum, so many places one could hang out and soak up ways to make your car better, social media doesn't really compare. It's too ephemeral and light on details, unless you have memes of cats driving trucks or dogs playing cards.

Thanks again Mitch. eclubrocks.gif

What is the link to the Facebook page? I want to be sure that I remain a part of this community.

Youtube is here:

Even though this forum is not going to be active moving forward due to the software issues, I am considering a plan to salvage the community. It may not be the best solution but it will allow the club to continue.

Stay tuned.

I saw that I am also a part of an "Elantra Club" group on Facebook. Did that also come from this community or is that a different one all together?

That was a group that moderator Roy started at my request to promote EC a long time ago. The one I posted is the newer, official EC FB page.

Got it. It might be a good idea to have a link to the Facebook group on the new page since it would make it easier for people to share their stuff with everyone.

Well it looks like the forum community is done. I actually tested the forum on a new host today with different software with the same results. Our registration script and Garages and Reviews are broken and unfixable. I've been trying to fix this behind the scenes on and off almost 24/7 for the past couple weeks. I've done everything in my power and it's incredibly frustrating. It's taking it's toll on me. Sadly, this is probably the end for our forum.

On a good note, I fixed the Arcade for those VIP's who still use it. This all just SUCKS.
