I recently surpassed 100,000 miles with my 2013 MD. I am curious if anyone on here has experienced any unusual problems with their car after the warranty expired. Any surprises?

Hopefully there are a few owners that will chime in soon (I don't own an MD).

I'm amazed you've amassed 100,000+ miles on a 2013! signs-wow.gif

100k+ in ~2 years? I'm guessing some sort of regional sales rep? Yowza. I thought I collected miles like Imelda Marcos collected shoes (211,5xx on my 03, 88k on it when I bought it 2/08).

With my '12 GL the only problems I ever encountered were minor electrical ones. The front driver side heated seat stopped working a couple times untill it was replaced. So did the driver side heated mirror. I had a new mirror ready to be installed at the dealership. It was warm out so I waited for my next service... then we had our accident. No problems with my '14 GLS so far other than the sunroof not opening fully on it's own. Had to be reset.

Last week, I was leaving the dealership after having the oil changed (114,××× miles) and the check engine light came on. The next day, I went to AutoZone and had them check the code/codes. It had one code, P2096. Apparently, Hyundai has a TSB for this error code. It is a false error code requiring a computer update. The dealership is charging me $120.00 for this update. If there is a software problem, shouldn't that be covered by Hyundai?

Has anyone dealt with this problem?

The problem there might be that you're past 100,000 miles, so your warranty is gone. I would think they ought to cover it, but if it's only a TSB and not a full-on recall your hands might be tied there.

I believe i can recall updates in both 2012 and 2013 to my 2011 limited, my car was still under warranty at that point, but both times the dealer came out and readily mentioned it to me. The only other TSB i had done at my own request was for a rattling exhaust, solved by clamping the heat shield IIRC.

My car now sits at 104k+ miles (168k+ kms) and aside from oil changes i had only changed the windshield wipers and sparks until about a month ago, when the rear brakes needed to be done as the passenger side was sticking and wore down prematurely but the fronts still have good meat on them and i suspect will last another 20-30k. I also changed tires about a month ago, my first set as i run dedicated winter Michelin X-Ice up here in the great white north tongue.gif, I stuck with Continental Contiprocontact for my other 3 season needs because i like the way they performed, however i went to 225/45/17 instead and it was the best choice ever.

As i see it, this car has been rock solid.

The update was completed, at my expense. It would have been covered under warranty.

My satellite radio quit working this morning. Called Sirius for help and they could not fix the problem. They suggested that I go to the dealer. I tried the reset button on the dash, but it didn't work. The tech at the dealership said that it is most likely the antenna. I'm not so sure, because my navigation system still works. They are more than happy to trouble shoot the problem for $12.00 per hour, since I am out of warranty. Of course I am.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

There's a gentleman on GRM with almost 200k on his 11. He finally replaced the front pads at 192.

Zero issues with my satellite radio thus far, however i do not have navigation so i can't draw a direct comparison as to whether or not it would be the antenna.
