Yes, perhaps you should have rephrased... the title of this post is, "Question about racing" and the OP also states,

...so maybe you can see where the confusion comes from innocent.gif

I wasn't there so I can't comment on your situation, but I have used my hazard lights in the past to let other road users that they were doing something dangerous.

Maybe I should have rephrased it because I was not racing. What happened was someone was being a wise a$$ and wanted to get over at the last minute to get on the parkway and I wouldnt let him in because well I just wouldnt and when we got on the parkway he was just riding my tail. Then there was like a runway for cars that are getting on and he decided to get over there and get around me and cut me off and thats when he put his flashers on.

Though Frank above makes a good point about the inference that you were in some way involved in racing from the topic name etc.

Here is my problem and it starts with the second part of sentence # 2: "I wouldnt let him in because well I just wouldnt"

You're very lucky I must say, consider This... Not to be overly dramatic, but it seems these days one really needs to be careful when plying the roads and being assertive.

The reason why I wrote the topic like that is because I have seen it a lot and I never understood why people do that when they are racing each other. So I figured since that guy did it to me let me just write it like that. Lets just say I wouldnt let him because he should have been in my lane to begin with instead of trying to outrun all of us that were in the correct lane and he would have taken part of my front off if I did and caused a chain reaction.

After two days of research I found the definitive answer...

using flashers signifies they are done racing

So Rachel, clearly, the other driver thought he was in a street race with you.

So in effect you couldn't... That makes more sense
