I can't believe they're bringing back the Dart nameplate. Since there's no Plymouth anymore, I'd have used Valiant if you're going to go that route. Regardless:

Kind of ho-hum design IMO, like an only-slightly-updated Neon.

I think this could be a car that makes or breaks Chrysler. It has decent looks and moves away from the giant ugly truck like front end of the previous Caliber and the Charger. With a chassis based on the Alfa Romeo Giullietta it should be a pretty good handling small sedan. If there is a decent amount of Mopar parts bin goodies it might bring back some of the Neon modding crowd that has "Left the Building." So to speak. I have looked at the Fiat 500 and the build quality seems encouraging enough to me that I would want to check out a Dart if I was currently buying. That said Anything from Chrysler has a long road to convince me that it's not a complete P.O.S. based on previous experiences. There's a bit more on it here. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/09/2013-do...meo-for-15-995/

profile view kind of looks like an 08 elantra lol. my dad had an old Dodge Dart push button tranny back in the day.... this thing is nothing like that, i guess they need a new smaller sedan in their brand. just dont see it taking off. maybe as a rental car

That's funny. I also thought it loosely resembled and HD Elantra.

I was actually thinking the XD2 because of the C pillar and the little window there...

I kind of like it, has a nice subtle aggression. I like the interior better than the Elantra and the Focus but not near as much as the Giulietta (which is my favorite interior of any car in this segment, the Forte and the Rio follow).

Now I wonder when (if?) a hatch will come around.

At the risk of sounding like I'm backpeddling, I couldn't figure out what people saw in it, so I found this picture:

I will say that it looks much better than I thought here and in the autoblog pictures that flcerberus linked to (better light). The picture I posted is very dark and red is a dark color for me, so it didn't really look like much. The front is actually pretty aggressive looking, but I'm still not enthused about the rear.

Maybe they will come out with a Chrysler Valiant option -- I do like that name better.

Eh, that just doesn't do it for me.

I can definitely see what you guys are saying about it looking like an HD or XD2.

Glad I am not the only one who sees the XD2 in it.

Better than the car it's replacing but very generic. As a former Dart owner, I want to like it, but it just doesn't grab me. I don't hate it, it's just kind of meh.
