Sorry to annoy you--but the thread does just pop up once a month.

Each time more people sign up. A fourth model year--2003-- has been included in the survey. And the 2002 is very close, so it'll probably be added next month.

Tha more participants there are, the better the information that will result.

The 2002 is now also included, for a total of five model years. Compared to zero a few months ago--major progress.

All years remain close to the minimum sample size, though, so additional participants would certainly help.

I added a 2004 and would be more than happy to fill out any surveys.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Thanks to people here, we've been able to add most recent model years to the survey, and others are close.

It remains to be seen how many model years will make it into the November results.

Help get your year included:

The 2007 is a single response short of the bare minimum, while the 2008 will definitely be in the November results. Data collection began more recently for other years, so they'll be in the February set.

Additional participants remain needed for all model years.

Updated results recently posted. Hyundai Elantra reliability, in terms of successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year:

2007: 57, about average

2008: 54, about average

The sample sizes are small, but that the results are so close together suggests that they are reasonably accurate.

Additional participants would be helpful for all model years. The larger the sample size, the more information we can provide.

I just signed up. My old 2002 was great. I hope the same with my "new" 04 GT!

Updated results with additional model years this week. Barely managed a partial result with the 2005, and in general additional participants would be very helpful.

I post here with the permission of the admin, and refer visitors to my site back to this forum in addition to posting the results here. Speaking of which...

We have updated results for the Elantra. In terms of successful repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2008: 48, about average, not far from "better than average"

2007: 45, small sample size, but very similar to the result for the 2008

2005: 95, about average for this year, very small sample size though

A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May, August, and November. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

We now have a separate results page for each model that includes the results for competitors. The page for the Elantra:

Updated results in May. 288 Elantras signed up so far. A very good start, but more remain needed to cover all years from 1995 on.
