I just pulled my motor to fix the bottom end and I'm on the fence of replacing the clutch/flywheel since its all apart anyways. But what are your thoughts on a lighter flywheel? I am thinking of going with the exedy OEM style clutch as this car will be staying N/A but not sure about the flywheel. Heard the chromoly ones break and the fidanza one seems like it might not be worth the price.

I hated it for the 36k miles it was installed. Stop-n-go traffic sucked. The lighter flywheel waprs easier, causing the clutch to chatter when engaging. The 9lb flywheel is "only" 5lbs lighter than stock. Stock is 14lbs. the cheaper flywheel is 11lbs.

It's not a honda, the engine doesn't rev high enough to warrant a lighter flywheel.

I am the opposite of Bob but do understand his concerns. A friend who has an 03 GT XD has the Fidanza flywheel and the stage 2 F1 clutch and loves the way it drives but did notice its more of a chore to drive during the drive into work. He also did note that the chatter he experienced went away after 500 miles.
I drove it twice and did notice the faster response. For the money I think it could be spent elsewhere to give you a little more oomph. If you are going all out performance build, every little thing matters. Take 5lbs of rotating mass off the flywheel and it will multiply at the wheels.

no, chromoly is quite tough. i am in the process of ordering a new clutch and going to install a lightweight flywheel when its all out. going with a clutch kit that can hold 200whp due to the nitrous on my car now.

I went ahead and didn't replace the clutch/flywheel after rebuilding the motor. But I think after reading up I will go with a stock replacement.
