Incredible attention to detail thus far , both with the car and posts . I look forward to reading how it runs , you essentially will have a new ( again ) albeit better 2000 Elantra . I had a automatic 2000 model as well for years and regret selling it ( still going ) but I do have a 2001 Tiburon which is essentially the same car in 2 door form . I would add I strongly support your decision to add a trans cooler , it is almost a necessity on the auto cars , I added mine when I repaired/installed the replacement tranny in the Tibby .

2000 Elantra ,sold but not forgot .

Thanks TJVJR!! I agree, with the added stress on the transmission from all the engine mods, a cooler is a must.

got a little more done today. The AC Condenser and the Radiator-fan assembly are installed

And the windshield was replaced. The old one was heavily damaged by the passenger airbag.

Before, you can see the spider cracks going all throughout the passenger side

Hey all. It's been quite some time since my last update. Work on the Elantra has been slowly progressing over the last year as modifications have been tweeked and readied for the first startup. More images will be posted soon as I'll have the car in the air to drop the gas tank and connect the last bits and pieces before its started up again. The largest change since the last post has been the new header design. The previous custom headers were removed and replaced with a scavenging header system that will improve engine efficiency and performance. The car is now 95% ready to go. Next week I'll be reinstalling the intake system, putting on the upper and lower radiator hoses, replacing the gas tank, fuel filter and pump, installing the sway bar, and reconnecting all the sensors. After that it should be good to start up. It's just a matter of finding the time. Expect a full compliment of pics within the next 2 weeks.

Cheers All
Josh
