Hello all (particularly Ontarians).

Please remember to vote today, the polling booths are open from 9am until 9pm.

Things you need to vote:

Go to your riding polling station (you can search for them at elections.ca)

Photo ID
Be on the voter's list

If you are not on the voters list you can either:

Bring Photo ID and a bill showing your address
or
Swear an oath on the spot that YES, this is your riding.

Please get out and vote! Keep in mind that only 60% of eligible Canadians actually vote.

And don't criticize / What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters / Are beyond your command
Your old road is / Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one / If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

You might have better luck to find your polling station here...

http://www.elections.on.ca/en-ca

Elections Canada is for Federal Elections... Althought there is probably a place on their web site that will link that info anyway.

People that DON'T vote have NO RIGHT to complain about the government.

My wife didn't vote before she was with me, now I think she's under the impression that it's not an option; and that's the way I like it.
I'm a big fan of democracy, even if it sometimes seems unfair....

On a side note, the vote today is even more important than a regular election due to the referendum vote on electoral reform, make sure you understand the question.

Sort of a moot point, since it's over now, but:

As a current resident of Newfoundland, it being the place I signed up and was born, and where I plan on retiring, I vote in provincial elections there. I vote in Federal elections.
But being a temp resident here in Ontario, I cannot in good conscience, make choices that those who permanently live here have to endure, good or bad, after I have moved away.

It is also a right to not vote, and for the stated reasons, I didn't.
