So I spent my NYD catching up on some past due maintenance on the two dailies. The wife's Rio has needed a new timing belt/belts and oil change for way too long. My car just needed an oil change. So I did the oil change on the Forte. Including jacking it up, finding the tools/drain pan, putting the stands under and changin the oil takes 10 minutes.... and you never have to move the drain pan for the oil drain and filter. Such fantastic engineering for long term maintenance.

Move on to the Rio. Since I had done one recently I knew they were easier than the old Hyundai belts. But man... this one was even easier. Crank pulley even slid right off. Total time to do the timing belt and accessory belts? 1 hour and 10 minutes. Then I spent an hour + cleaning up the engine bay. I wish I'd taken before/after pics because it is night and day difference.

More importantly, unlike the Tahoe, I used a 10mm, 12mm, 21mm for the lugnuts and a 22mm for the crank pulley. 4 sockets. total. God I love these things

These cars are so easy, Kendra is helping me work on them.

You make it sound easy but what takes you an hour would take me three.
No wonder you get the big bucks. 😁

Yep very easy to work on. Don't even have to jack the car up to change the oil.
