Considering Polk Audio db6501 as front door replacements. Crutchfield says they won't fit up front. Sonicelectronix says they will.

Specs from Polk:
Top Mount 2" (5.08cm)
Bottom Mount 2 1/4" (5.71cm)
Diameter 6 1/2" (16.51cm)
Cut-Out Diameter 5" (12.70cm)

My only guess is either the cut-out diameter or mounting holes are the problem. From what I've read, all other specs should fit.
Does anyone have experience installing dbs in an 09? Thanks much.

09 Elantra SE w/6 speaker option.

does anyone sell adaptor plates for the 09?

Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.

The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon.

I just found that Scosche makes some but I'm not sure they will work in this situation and since Crutchfield provides adapters for other speakers that "fit with adapter", that now makes me think it may be something other than a speaker-adapter problem.

Any ideas?

Yea they should work, just get a speaker adapter, you'll need it. The doors themselves don't have the proper screws. I'm assuming you're talking about the polk component speakers and not coaxial right?

Check this link... I installed them myself.

Thanks hyundave. Yes components. So, no major fit problems if I use the adapters... good to know.

How do you like the pioneer/polk mix in your ride?

It works nicely. Not too much of a noticable difference. I was kind of disappointed with my amp though... Having those speakers amped didn't help too much with any real midbass power. The pioneers in the rear are nice. I put them in more for my rear passengers than for myself haha

I have these in the rear of my Koup running at 50wrms and they sound great. They are much punchier than the RF shallow mount components I have in the front. Of course I am also running a sub so I usually have them filtered at 80hz. But when my sub was out of commission I was pleasantly surprised with the output.
