The Decal Group Buy is back on!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you sent me a payment but you did not include your EClub Username with the payment, you need to tell me who you are to make sure I know who's payment goes with which order!!!!! For everyone else who hasn't paid yet, make sure you include your EClub Username in the payment information!

The design of the decals is as follows:


Decals will be made from "frosted glass" vinyl.

12" decal (photo courtesy of NY2002ElantraGT):


6" decal (photo courtesy elantragt):


The group buy prices are as follows (no change from the canceled buy):

1- 6" decal------$4.00
2- 6" decals-----$7.00
1- 12" decal-----$8.00
2- 12" decal----$15.00

Prices include postage in the U.S. for sure, and probably worldwide as well. If any postage costs to other places are very high, I'll get with you, but I think we can probably cover that as well.

Ordering details

Send payments to doohickie@charter.net PayPal account.

If you are still committed to purchasing decals you must post in this new thread. The old thread has been closed. Write down how many decals you want, what size and whether they are normal for outside mounting or reversed for inside mounting.

This pre-buy will be open for one week, until 9/17. By that date, I need both your order and your money. You can send your mailing address to me either via email (doohickie@charter.net), via PM. I prefer email, since I don't want my PM Inbox to fill up.

Once payments are received I will place the order, which should be ready in about a week, and I will send them out to everyone.

The new supplier is called VehicleGraffiti. This shop is an "approved vendor" over on our local forum, DFWHyundais.com, and is also a friend and former coworker of one of the admins there, who describes him as "trustworthy...he is good and does an excellent job with the decals." The founding admin of DFWHyundais.com says "I've seen his work and its really good. I plan to get all future decals from him."

To make it easy, I will repost the list from the canceled buy here. If you were in the old buy, you still need to contact me to confirm your order. If you were not in the canceled buy, you can still make a new order. As I receive word I will update this list.

Login to your Paypal account at paypal.com (if you have one), click Send Money, and put my email address, doohickie@charter.net, in the To box. Then put the amount of the purchase in the Amount box. And send it.

Best case, you'll have them by the end of the month; if I can't get certain logistics to work out it'll be more like mid-Oct. Most likely somwhere in between.

is there anyway i can change my order from inside (reversed) to outside (normal)? i just realized if i put them inside it might mess with my tint when i get it if the order cant be modified thats alright, i'll find a way!

Once we finish the group buy, I think there will be a way to get single orders from the supplier. We've discussed it a little, but I want to get the group buy done first. I hope to pick up the decals tomorrow, but I don't know for sure they'll be finished yet.

Well, seeing as how I HAVE THEM!!!



It should be pretty soon. The 12" ones are 12" long; the 6" ones are actually a little bigger than 6".

I'm short by one 12" decal (I added one or two late orders and he keyed off the wrong email); other than that, as soon as I get envelopes and postage, they are outta here.

Someone may get a 12" decal direct shipped from the supplier guy, though...

The decals are coming, but there may be a slight delay. The old Escort my sons drive has an http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17825 and that is a higher priority right now than me shipping decals. It may be a couple days before I get them out.

Actually, since I've been so bad, go ahead and email it to me (doohickie (AT) charter (DOT) net). This evening I'll see who I've gotten and anyone whose address I don't have confirmed I send an email.

Please don't PM though unless absolutely necessary cuz I'm just about full.

Confirming mailing addresses is probably an unnecessary step, but I know there are a few people who used friends and relatives for the PayPal, so this will ensure everyone gets their stuff shipped directly to them (and not to their mom or whatever).

In the email, follow this format:

Okay, folks.... I didn't even turn on my computer this weekend so I'm a little behind. I'm going through the emails I received to make sure I have everyone's mailing address, and I'll contact anyone whose address I still need. I will probably send out the Aussie decals first, then the Canadian ones, then the American ones.... that way everyone should hopefull get them about the same time?

When I backed out of the group buy the first time, one of the reasons I cited was that this is my busy time of year. And I wasn't kiddin'. But I have some time tonight which should get me largely caught up.... and perhaps decals will start going out tomorrow if I'm lucky. If not, bear with me.... I've got 'em and you'll get 'em.... as soon as I can get them out.

Mine arrived today. I was confused at first when I saw an envelope from "Paul [insert last name here]" in Fort Worth, TX, and then I remembered Paul=Doohickie. I'm more excited about these than any other mod I've done thus far, lol . Just need to give my car a good wash first...

On that note, one last (probably silly) question: can I wash my car with the decals on, or is it necessary to remove them, wash the car, and stick 'em back on again? (Mine are outside-mounting.)

Wash your car well with dish soap or something that will take the wax off (if putting on a painted surface), then apply the decals and re-wax/detail the car. It's best to remove the wax for better adhesion of the decal. Don't remove them when you wash the car or they'll never go back on again. Just wash over the top of them. If putting them on your windows, just clean the window very well and put the decal on.

Yeah... what he said. They are permanent decals. That is part of the reason we made the 6" decals just slightly larger; Gary the decal guy said if the pieces were too small they wouldn't stay on as well.
