I'm not in the market for a CF hood, nor do I think I will be at any point in the future.

But what I would like to see is a hood with contours similar to the new Sonata hood. I really dig the creases that match up with the A-pillar, and I think it would look great on our cars.

The issue I have with carbon fiber/aftermarket hoods is they will affect the airbag system and there is the potential of the hood breaking free of the hinges and going through the windshield in a front end crash.

The reason here is the airbag sensor is not located low on the nose. They are actually located near the top of the radiator on each side. The crumple zone that is created with the stock hood will push the metal INTO the sensors setting the airbag system off. I know Hyundai will not do a warranty on the airbag system if a aftermarket hood is installed on the car.

Carbon Fiber seems to be fading out like spinners. I wonder whats next?
I did see some white carbon fiber in a tuner mag. I would go for that and put a little bit of pearl on it.

I don't think carbon-fiber will ever be out... unless they can find something that is lighter, and stronger. Functionality rules out evertime. If you could only get CF in puke-green, I'd still get it and then paint it.

I don't know the exact details one of you is asking about, I also agree that CF isn't going anywhere. Shipping will probably be between $120 and $140. Photos are in the works, I'll post 'em when I get 'em..

Remember, we need 8 to do this..
