Tripod is just a mess. They contacted me and said they cancelled the old ElantraGTClub account because they screwed something up. They took money out of my Paypal and claim they didn't. That company is a mess. Now I have no access to all the files and folders as they cancelled my account. Their phone number is disconnected.

Fuck them. Looks like the original site is no longer under my control and I no longer own the EGT domain cause of their incompetence. Sucks, but I'm glad to not be dealing with the Tripod BS.

Yes, a part of our site is gone but we still have this forum community.

Well that sucks. There was some good info there as well as some fun topics.
Have you opened a dispute with Paypal about it?
I know you have had lots of issues with Tripod in the past.

So stuff like the DIY section is gone? Ouch. Hope you can find a way to resolve that without driving yourself to your wits' end. I would definitely get hold of Paypal as well and dispute them taking money out while cancelling your account.

Dorks. They've been nothing but problems for several years now if memory serves me. Just as well I suppose but damn if all those DIYs weren't a great feature.

I contacted Paypal. The email associated with Tripod no longer exists. It's done.

Wow what a bunch of morons... You put your trust in a company (you also pay for it) and the rip you off like that.

Anyway, you have always done a wonderful job with the forums Mitch, it's still is, IMO the best car forum around. The layout, the info and the friendly people make this place special.

Yes, I have disappeared multiple times (due to some life events) but I never forgot about this place, the friends I have made and how much it has helped me with my EGT (and other cars as well).

The disasters continue. My host for elantraclub.com upgraded to the latest version of PHP and our board is not 100% compatible. Many features have been lost including the Garages and Review Zone. No workaround.

It is what it is. Sucks.
