You are correct. I took a close look this morning. There is some undercoating/filberglass like stuff under the paint. I guess I didn't go down to metal but just into that coating/protection. The bad news is that is does have a dent. Being that it is not really visible and the dent almost looks like part of the tapered design, I think it will be best to stay with my plan of feathering/painting. Cutting out and brazing in a new rocker etc.. would be beyond my current skills. I guess I could pay to have it repaired but that seems like a pricey option.

Any ideas what something like this would cost to have fixed, if I did go that route?
