ElantraClub - For Elantra Owners and Enthusiasts _ EC Site Comments _ For all generations

Posted by: elantragt Jan 30 2014, 10:43 AM

That's been our slogan for a long time. I figured it would cover two bases... First it meant that we cater to all generations of the Elantra. And the other meaning is that we aren't just for any particular age group. All are welcome here. Young and old and in the middle.

Lately, I've noticed an odd trend. For the most part I'm seeing the same core group of posters. It's me, the moderators and a small core group of VIP's. When a new member joins (and posts) all of us are eager to welcome them to EC and to try to answer their question. Yet for the most part these newcomers aren't staying to become a part of the community. I know that all car forums have many "one and dones" (the ones having one question that get the answer and move on) but recently virtually all newbies are one and done.

This is the crux of what we need to work on moving forward. How do we get more of these newbies sticking around to be a real part of EC?

By the same token, it seems like all donators to our current drive are either VIP's or moderators. There must be some non-VIP's who've gotten help and could pitch in the make the drive a success.

I know we can't force people to want to be active in the community. They have to want to be a part of it. I just wonder what your thoughts are as to why we aren't getting a higher percentage of new members here posting as regulars?

Your thoughts. Please discuss. thumbsup.gif

humanity is spiraling further down the suckage pipe...

music sucks
ignorance is at an all time high
kids cant read cursive
ppl literally spending 15+ hrs a day staring at facebook statii
tweets have replaced phone calls and even text messages
... no one seems to care about saving money by maintaining and fixing cars themselves
modding is down to a hardcore few...

things have gotten so bad riced civic eg hatches are now singing kumbaya with camaros and mustangs...

maybe we can petition the Need for Speed movie to feature an elantra?

Edddddddddddddeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I can imagine a repository for all things Elantra being one way forward, but how does one keep the heat under that fire, let alone pay for it? The forums are the life blood of a site like this and it seems that a tourniquet is needed. Maybe a erotic photos section? A Bitcoin trading zone?

how do we identify what ignited the fire in the first place?

it was 2002... the elantra gt was one of the best bang for bucks out there and people love it...

the new elantras are great.. its no secret... superb styling and prices can still be found very well south of the $20k mark....

it had to be the people... what inspired them to buy a 200 pc ratchet set and floor jack...

ppl changed
