So there is no mirror adjust switch on the drivers side window control? Weird, I thought all T&C had them.

Here is the owners manual for it.

I don't like the shifter location on these.
I do have to say, when I got my van (2005 Grand Caravan) I was really impressed. It is a vehicle I did not want but did everything and more when needed. I still miss it when we have more than 5 people andhave to take 2 cars instead of just the van.

Nope, just lock and driver's door window controls.

We actually even have the *gasp* paper one! I've looked through it, and there's no real clear indication as to how you do it. We'll figure it out, though.

Yeah, the shifter is in a strange spot. That said, it seems to be very solid and ought to run until the wheels fall off as long as we take care of it (which we will).

So how is the new van so far?

She digs it. It goes down the road nicely, and we even (for now) got the 3rd row seat that wouldn't stay upright sorted out. Now, if I can figure out why the 3rd brake light is only connected intermittently...

That's part of the idiot sensing circuit that was new for that year model. It only comes on during braking when idiots are present behind you... tongue.gif

I come from a family that swore by the Caravan for a number of years. My folks owned an '88 Voyager, a '91 Caravan, a '94 Caravan SE (10th anniversary model, real slick) and an '03. They're beasts of burden who aren't afraid to work. Very simple and plainly designed and engineered, but reliable and tireless. If your T&C is anything like that, she'll keep your family safe and trouble free for years. Congrats on the buy and sorry to see the Rio go. I'm sure she served her purpose well.

That it did. In fact, it waited until after she got back from her mom's (with kids in tow) for the brake line to fail. Really thankful for that.

Wouldn't have minded something like an old Mercury Villager (my dad was an engineer for Ford), but they quit building those years ago and you couldn't get me to touch a Windstar with a 10 foot pole. When the old man says they're junk, you listen... especially if he worked for the company that built them.

Wasn't the Villager based on the Nissan Quest (or vice versa)? Those generations are quite rare in our day and age, at least here in my neck of the woods. It never seemed to me Ford had any real good models to compete with Chrysler's minivans. I guess the Flex might be a decent pick, it's certainly better than anything GM ever built imo, and I've been a loyal bow tie guy for years. In any case, the T&C was undoubtedly a good buy. Share some pics when you get a chance, I'm sure some of us here wanna see the new girl.

Yeah, they were the same platform. Ford could've had some great models to compete with Dodge/Chrysler... if they hadn't let the engineers with the designs get away to Chrysler.

I'll try to get some pics of it up at some point.
