One way to change the look of the car is an aftermarket grille. Truthfully though, there's really nothing out there that I like. And price is a consideration. of course.

And, the reality is, I like the stock grille overall. I was thinking of one possible mod to the stock grille though.... blacking out the chrome with some quality gloss black auto vinyl like 3M 1080.

Here's a comparo I did with my stock grille and the gloss black look photoshopped. I think I like the black better, but, I'm not sure how easy it would be to wrap as a DIY. I know the basics (use a hair dryer and work the vinyl) but wonder if it would look perfect. I don't want to paint it because I want to be able to go back to stock easily, if needed.

Indeed, I have seen XD2 grilles from time to time that I would like but they're either no longer made or not available in this country (or have a stupid name like 'Road Runs' bleeech!). I like the black, but without any further knowledge about the construction of the grille I wouldn't begin to speculate as to wrapping it, but I think it could be done and if I owned a Forte I'd give it a try. I trust you've cross posted this at ForterForums for additional input?

I really like the black. Sometimes the smallest changes have the biggest impact. Looking at pictures of my Sonata here you can see how just by blacking out the chrome strip above the grill completely changed the front end. I used some 3M black out tape I bought at Advance Auto and it was really pretty easy to install. Unfortunately, the shape of the Kia's grill would make it quite a bit more difficult than my install, but I definitely say go for it.

If your are looking gloss black is not gonna work.

The glossifier will give you a Satin black look rather than a flat black
