Same thing happened to my Touring soon after I purchased and I had the same thoughts. I thought my rear end was going to be royally f'd, but the visible damage was minimal. Still cost several $100's to fix like yours.

The guy's excuse was classic and reasonable (although I was still super pissed at the time). The accident was on the University of KY's campus and there were a few co-eds hosting a sorority car wash in a parking lot next to the stop light. tongue.gif

If the foam is OK, I would rather keep my original equipment.

Is there anything else I should insist on them checking?

Someone told me there might be a problem because I had my foot on the brake and the car was pushed a bit.

Thanks everyone,
Linda

The appraiser was here today and his estimate for repair and refinish of the rear bumper cover is $491.13. It has to go back to the office for approval and I'll get a check in 5 days. No cost to me. I'm glad he was able to see the dimple with no problem but I guess that's his job.

I'm just happy there wasn't a lot more damage. I felt sorry for the guy that hit me too. He was a nice kid and I really hated calling the cops but I know a few people who didn't file a report and then got stuck paying for damage that was unseen at the time of the crash. He asked me if my car got good gas mileage and I had to tell him that I didn't know, I haven't even put gas in it yet.

Tomorrow morning, I'm going to get up early and give my car a nice bubble bath and wax. I'm still waiting for my rear visor to come in from Hyundai. I already paid for the visor and window tint and I'm just waiting for the call to bring it in.

Thanks for all the advice!

Linda
