My Alpine four-channel amp keeps cutting out. I've isolated the problem to the front driver's side door speakers. I can crank my volume as loud as I want on any of the other speakers, but as soon as I bring full power to the front driver's side, it goes into protection mode.

Do I have a bad amp or would reversed polarity on my components in the door cause that to happen? This only started happening after I removed the panels for some new painting. I'm wondering if I hooked up something up wrong.

Thoughts?

i would double check to make sure you dont have a wire resting on metal in the door panel.

I'll check, thanks. Thinking it's a short as opposed the amp going bad?

Got to be a loose wire in the door.
