To be honest, i think the main cat flows just fine. By removing the stupid second cat and replacing the muffler is going to net you the best gains. It may only be a few hp, but the power will be more efficient.

Removing the second cat won't trigger any codes. The first one is the one that can give you grief.

2nd cat pipe has o2 sensor on it. I believe after cat. Or before cat after flex. Can't remember. But u saying cut cat out and straight pipe that piece?

The second o2 is before the 2nd cat. So yes a piece of pipe is fine.

Choice of muffler will certainly impact the sound. You can find many clips on youtube as well as here of muffler tones before you decide on one. Borla is a well respected brand though and would be a fine choice.

Got my custom intake back on. Did it right thee time. Love how it sounds wen I'm on it. Its that deep rumble. Now just have to do exhaust.
