So I decided on some hyper black rims for my silver car, there are 18x7.5 or 17x7's, just wondering what you guys would suggest. I'd like to get 18's but not sure if they would be too big....I mean the stock elantra comes with 17's so not much of a point in buying 17's really, I have the stock steelies which are 16's but why settle with 17's? Anyone know if the fitment would be ok? Was going with 225/40/18 tires... Let me know!
oh and the 18's only weigh 18lbs -------------------- A proud member of the club.

No opinions as far as fitment goes but I would consider ride quality. The limited with 17" wheels gives the driver quite a bit of feedback already and I personally wouldn't want to go with any larger wheel that would sacrifice more tire dampening but this could all boil down to your personal preference and I know some people really like a lot of feedback from their cars.

they said the 18's would fit fine, I was just wondering about the wheel well gap. I dont want to lower my car so not sure how the 18's would look without lowering. Anyone got an opinion?

not enough information for now, car has not been out long enough but i think 18's would fit and the wheel gap would decrease if you keep the same sidewall size.. if you go smaller on sidewall your gap will increase

With an 18" you will want to lower the car to give it the proper look.
I have the stock 17" now and feel the wheel could be bigger. i'm sure eibach will make a nice riding pro kit spring for this car soon. I have seen a few pictures of them with 18" and they definitely look great. -------------------- |

Hey man, 18s will look amazing on your car. 225/40R18's will fit so long as all the proper offsets of the wheel match Hyundai specs. (215/40R18 is a little closer in overall diameter). The bolt pattern is the same as 2007-2010 Elantras (as are tire sizes on the GLS and lower models) so anything that fits that style will fit yours. Enjoy!
