Hey-It's called the Elantra in the Philippines. They were just cross referencing to the Korean name, Avante.

thanks for the welcome... yes, in the philippines it's called elantra; in korea it's called avante.

all stock

please correct me if i'm wrong but to the best of my knowledge, elantras in the U.S. have the "ELANTRA" logo on the left side of the trunk and the H-emblem in the middle; in the philippines, the elantras have the "HYUNDAI" logo on the left side, H-emblem in the middle, and the "ELANTRA" logo on the right side. that's one of the distinct differences, i reckon. i also think that elantras in the U.S. have chrome upper grills regardless of engine displacements (1.6, 1.8) while in the philippines, the 1.6 models have the somewhat tacky matte gray grill. and no fog lamps. sad.gif

more pix, stock mode

Hey-You're correct, those are the main exterior differences. The base model here (GLS) has a small chrome trim piece on the lower section of the grille. The USA only has the 1.8 engine available.
