Yea I know how to use a rachet, thanks

He wasn't really questioning your ability to use the tool -- it was just a joking way of saying "If you can use a ratchet, it's nothing to be afraid of."

I think it's the easiest spark plug change I've ever had of all my vehicles. If it takes me morethan 10 minutes I probably stopped to open a beer.

With my Elantra being the only car I own, and is necessary for my wife and I to get to work...I am very leery of breaking off a plug or stripping threads putting in a new one.
At least if I am at the dealer and they mess it up, I will get their loaner car until mine is fixed.

With the money I've saved doing a few of my own repairs, I could afford to rent a car for a day or two if I screwed something up.

Are there any particular plugs and wires that folks like for the Beta II?

My MPG seems to be trending downward. Even though I have low miles, the car was built 1/07 so the parts are 5 1/2 years old.

Thanks.

The word on the street is the best replacement wires are the OEM ones.

There are a handful of good wire sets out there, but none of them are better than OEM. They might be just as good, but certainly aren't noticeably better. As far as plugs go, NGK seems to be the popular choice around here and I've never heard a bad word about them - from the cheap-o model to the blingy Iridium ones, they're always reliable and give a good spark.

Can't hurt to toss a can of injector cleaner in the gas tank.
