i have a 2006 elantra and i want to put on the short ram intake i got but there is a sensor on the stock intake...i unplugged it to see if it would still run it did and didnt throw any engine light but it ran weird.....so my question is is it safe to put this on with no sensor....and i looked at the diy guide and it doesn't mention anything about a sensor.....

that is the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF). It is a critical component to making the engine run correctly. It measures the amount of air that the engine is sucking in to get a better idea as to how much fuel it should use. Without it, you WILL get a CEL. You WILL run rich as hell and you WILL cause long term damage.

The MAF sensor needs to be mounted on the new intake in a similar position to where the stock one was.

The Spectre setup that Lou sent you has the flexible extension, right?

You could also mount the filter at the end of the extension to use it as a CAI instead of an SRI.

You really should use the Dryflow... seriously...

Good job on the install.

One other thing. I can't tell from the pic but you did hook up the vacuum hose, right?
