Well, I finally decided to get my radio looked at. My AM reception has been very poor for a long time now and I finally had time to take it to the dealer.
They even have a computer in the waiting room.

They put in a new Kenwood unit and still have the same problem. We'll see what they do next.

Thats sweet.... club members sitting at a dealership service waiting area submitting comments, on their PC, in real time to the GT Club. Love It! At least ya had something to do there.

AM reception on a Hyundai is always bad. Can't give you a good answer why. If AM is that important I would look into aftermarket solutions to improve the signal. Changing the radio never helps. Save the service department anymore hassle and say thanks for looking into it.

They put in a new radio and it is much much better. They want the car back next week for a day to install a noise supresser and to check the altinator.

AM radio is always sketchy and something as simple as the weather can affect it. Good to here it seems ok right now.

It was unlistenable before. The Cruise control made it whine so much you couldn't hear what was being said. The fan made it worse.
