any other way to get to the oil filter without removing that bf splash shield? also, is there any other jack points that are in or near the center of the of the front of the car. i know about the jack points on the rocker panels. i see a metal crossmember pretty far back from the engine, but i dont know if it will support the weight of the car.

No, there is no way around it.
I have seen on the Santa Fe that they have access covers on the places where the oil filter and plug are Why they didn't put it on the Elantra's?? -------------------- Working hard, living proud
