I just finally got around to hooking up my setup and I was just wondering what kind of luck everyone has had with the stock alternator

Depends on how much you're running. My 10 year old stock alternator with nearly 150,000KMs works fine for me, though I'm only running about 300WRMS total.

IIRC, 01-02 were onlt a 65 or 70amp alt. In 03 they bumped them up to 85amp.

Add a second Batt and 4ga wire and you will be fine. Iv never had a issue. The big 3 is recommended too.
