I know on the plat's when they were worn, I was able to run around 30-32 up front and I ran the rears around 42-45 (depending on surface/temps) definately chalk the fronts (don't bother with the rear). You want to rub them to the edge of the shoulder blocks on the outer edge and keep them there. the down side is you give up some crispness in turn in(think slaloms, you'll need to be way ahead of the game) but you'll get more overall lateral grip.

The Elantra almost always required a 10-12psi differential between the front and rears to get it to rotate. So... I would start with the front at 32, rear at 40 and drive it 2 runs checking the temps between to keep them the same. If it's loose, drop the rear pressure 2psi (Yeah, like that is going to happen!). If it's tight pump them up 2psi and run again.

Alright, I'm an autox idiot and I'm curious. You say chalk your tires, what exactly do you mean? Like take chalkboard chalk and scribble all over the treads so you see your contact pattern after a run?

Marking the side walls to see if your rolling over. If so add more air.

Where we usually run, I can tell without chalk/marker because the surface is abrasive enough that fresh scuffs show up well. If you're not familiar with your tires or the surface doesn't generate much grip than marking the tires is a good thing to do.

Oh... and if you have a chance, throw in as much static camber as you can before the event.

Nice. Chalk your tires, have it your way. I see how this works.
