ElantraClub - For Elantra Owners and Enthusiasts _ i30 Based Performance _ lowering kits, sway bars, and stut tower for 2013 elantra gt

Posted by: jplks2play Jan 30 2013, 10:25 AM

Was wondering if anyone knows where i can get aftermarket springs, sway bars, and strut tower for my 2013gt. I know ark performance has springs but any other makers? Thanks in advance.

Check out if the MD suspension works with the GT:

I think at this time the options are going to be somewhat limited on the GT with it being so new. The GT is based off the i30 platform sold in other parts of the world, so there is a good chance suspension parts for the i30 could work on the GT, though it might depend on what the part is.

Certain MD parts will fit the GT, but you have to be careful. For instance the engine is the same in the MD elantra as it is with the GT so if you wanted to add an intake you could pick one up labeled as for the sedan, but it will still fit the GT. I just checked out Ebay for the first time in a while and realize that nearly everything for the sedan says it will fit the 2013 GT. I pity the unsuspecting customer as that is definitely not the case. For instance they have grills, body kits, tail lights, etc for the sedan all saying they will fit the GT which they certainly wouldn't.

Here is a pretty decent listing of aftermarket companies in the US that you can keep an eye on for when suspension parts start becoming available.
It is in our club's Wiki section.

Also welcome to the club and congrats on the GT! Glad to see another GT is cruising around South Carolina. cool.gif

Just curious if you ended up installing lowering springs on your car? I know H&R has a set of lowering springs available for the GT. If you did lower, was anything else required after lowering other than alignment (eg: camber kit)

Necro I know...but I want to know if you ever ended up dropping it and if you found out if the gt shares the same suspension as the MD. Saw some ARK springs but unsure if they will work
