I'm pretty sure this question has been asked a plethora of times but is there actually anyone in the states that I could send an ECU in to or would it have to be sent to korea. Or am I just SOL. I have a spare ECU lying around and was only wondering.

I was in talks with OE tuning and they said they could flash it but would only be like 15whp for like 400 bucks. It may be worth a try. I have his email if you want it. Would like to see some one try it and see if its worth the cash.

Well I'llhave to think about it if it's going to be legit work done or not but I'll more than likely give it a shot.

Contact Blood Type Racing. They're doing newer Hy/Ki tunes and may have the software to crack the older ones. It'll be north of $400 though.

I know BTR is good, my brother has a can tune on his genesis from them. But it does hiccup sometimes. I'll contact them though and see what happens.

From what I'v seen, their dyno tunes are great. Canned tunes are decent but sometimes iffy depending on vehicle.

Another tuner well known in the Hyundai family is SFR. If you're west coast, BTR is closer, if you're east coast, SFR is closer. I'm definitely looking at a tune for my genesis down the road from SFR (probably stage 1.5). Make sure you have supporting mods for the tune though. Kinda pointless to throw a tune on a stock system...

I do live closer to the east side of the states, if I could send my ECU to them that would be great, otherwise that kind of lowers my options (not really able to do a lot of travelling due to school prep). As for the engine, I'm full bolt-ons, intake spacer, cam (contemplating getting both regrinded), and am soon to do a port and polish, BBTB and manifold port matched.

Pricing is also a factor for me. Also before I forget, would bigger injectors (sonata) be beneficial with a tune or just pointless?

Sweetness! Now my main concern is which would be the best option. I don't mind waiting X days to get it back but I do want to be safe (if SFR and BTR can tune it).

Thoughts?

So you mean that this place/guy that is doing tuning for the Genesis can also tune a 03 Hyundai Elantra?

Well I haven't gotten a response back so I can't really say. Reading through SFR's tuning info they say they can tune X types of ecus and oneof them being kefico(?) From an image of a veloster. The ecu I have laying around is the same type but like I said. Still unsure.
