I just purchased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Coupe, Grey, and i have an interest in changing some things. I want it to look "cool" but not like a hot wheel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (sorry I currently don't have any pictures of it)

A better question is what are you looking to do with the car?
Exterior: Lower (coilovers or bags) Rims Bodykit Custom Lights Performance: CAI Exhaust Possible chip? (not sure if they have them for 2013's) Whatever else you can find for a 2013 for the engine Audio: New headunit New speakers Subwoofer Those are you general basics. Give us a category and what you want to do and we will help get more specific -------------------- 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE / Carbon Grey / Incus Body Kit / Sold at 98,400 miles 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Premium / Black / Current DD at 43,000 miles |

Hey-I always start with the window tint. Then some Hyundai accessories. K&N air filter or CAI if you want to really up the ante.
Enjoy the new ride. Post some pics when you can. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

the windows already came tinted when i purchased the car. so that one is already done for me. i just purchased a 35 watt HID kit 6000k for low beams. possible body kit? Tinting on Headlights and Tailights? LED strip for headlights (2 tone strip), there is also a big black plastic piece on the front of the car that i hate so if i can change that i would too.

I personally would go with suspension/handling mods first and then move onto exterior body work. It just makes the drive more fun. But if you can give us a budget then that would help too.

First, welcome to the club! Maybe a good place to start is perusing various sites to see what is out there for your car so you can get your wish list started. Here is a link to a listing of some of the aftermarket companies that offer parts for Hyundai's. Ebay is also a good place to peruse. I'm not sure how many different items are shared between the coupe and the sedan but I know the engine is the same so if you wanted something like a CAI, one that is listed for the sedan would work for the coupe.
What to do is a very personal opinion, but one of the biggest appearance mods to me in order to set your car apart from the pack are a nice set of wheels and tires. Then you could attack suspension if you wanted, look at getting LED taillights/headlights, install a stereo, new exhaust, new intake, plastidip emblems/trim, etc. Also, don't forget your VIP membership here which gives you a long list of added perks and access to VIP only areas, but more importantly keeps this club online and moving forward. Of course the above list all comes down to how much time and money you have. Right now I have none of both so I have only installed a stereo in my new GT though my wish list keeps expanding! -------------------- Please consider helping keep the club online and independent. okay so here are some pictures of it. i do like the rims they way they came. hyundave- what do you mean by lower (coilovers or bags)? i may look into new speakers..possibly boston acoustics. it came with the nav already so i dont need a new headunit. what does a cold air intake do as well as the K&N air filter? im open to almost all options! and my budget is unknown, i guess until things start getting really high priced

There is controversy on the K&N filter. It is a reusable filter which you wash and oil with their kit. It is suppose to give you maybe an extra 1 hp and maybe a little better mpg. I and several members have used it in several cars without any issues. Since the K&N filter is foam, it does allow more particles through but it streamlines the airflow thus making your car more efficient (essentially). But since more dust particles may get through some people say it's bad for your engines.
A CAI is where you remove the factory airbox and put in a cold air intake which takes air directly from the front of your car thereby getting cold air; cold air is better for the engine essentially and it improves your performance (hp and mpg). As for upgrading speakers, i'm not sure how much better sound you'll get unless you get an external amp to power the speakers; maybe look at adding a subwoofer to fill in the sound. Also check out the GARAGE and see what other members have done. There are lot of mods for your vehicle and the sky is the limit on mods. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

You could try plastidipping the front. It would give it the matte look you're looking for and see if you like it. If you don't, it's easily removable. and super cheap too!!!
Coilovers are replacement springs that can lower your car to the ground. Essentially "stancing" the car. Google coilovers or stanced cars and you'll understand -------------------- 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE / Carbon Grey / Incus Body Kit / Sold at 98,400 miles 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Premium / Black / Current DD at 43,000 miles |

Don't dip your whole car. Or if you do, get it professionally done (would much more recommend your get it wrapped rather than dipped). I've seen too many plastidip jobs that look like complete shit. For first time plastidipping, The size of your grill is about the largest I'd recommend you do. The color of your car is sweet! I'd hold off on the full matte car idea and try some other mods out for size first.
