I guess this is the right place for my first post here. I've had many cars before and I've subscribed to more than a few forums, but this is my first Hyundai and so now I'm here. I had some issues registering...idk why...but note that I'm in, it seems like a good place to be. My car, an '02 gls, was actually given to me by a co-worker. And surprisingly, there's actually very little wrong with it. It need a wheel alignment, 2 tires, and a couple of bulbs here and there. Some intermittent (and presumably sloppy) aftermarket radio/speaker wiring needs to be sorted out, but that happens to be my specialty. Some clear coat is peeling (of course), and that's about it. The only other thing that does worry me a little (more so, the first time it happened) is that it's hard to start every time I refuel it. Also, judging from the occasional ringing-like squeak I'm hearing, I may also need rear brake shoes (non-ABS drums). I'm the third owner of this 164K mile car. Thanks for reading, abd thanks for having a great forum.

On the rear brake shoes, a sticking e-brake cable is not uncommon. When you pull the rims, make sure the shoes aren't grabbing. I see you're in upstate NY, so your car has surely seen its' share of ice and salt.

Yeah. I'm hoping that's not the case. I don't feel any binding...but I guess I wouldn't necessarily. It does have a little rust on both rear quarters but nowhere near as bad as I've seen.

Well now that I own one, I am seeing quite s few of these cars tooling around. I never noticed before because these cars are COMPLETELY INVISIBLE if you've never owned one.
