We've had a few punctured condensers and this will probably be some cheap insurance (compared to the $600 repair bill) against that happening to you!

Details:

I wrote up THE DIY but some folks can't find the mesh and I've been asked to do a 'group buy'. There's no need for a minimum # of participants so it doesn't really follow the normal GB idea.

Kits will be pre-cut plastic or aluminum mesh (as specified in the option)and include zip ties(I have white, black, dark red, and blue ties). Price includes shipping to US usaflag.gif and Canada canadaflag.gif!! (I can look into shipping anywhere else.)

Grille pieces do NOT replace the stock grille - they're just added protection.

Pricing Disclaimer:
I readily admit that it would cost you a lot less to go to the store and get mesh and do this yourself, especially since my fellow Americans will be helping cover the shipping cost differences for any Canadian members.

update2.gif
New options added 08/10!! 2 new kit options, 1 material option. My parts source just added aluminum mesh. It's thin galvanized aluminum - natural aluminum color and shiny at the moment but will most likely dull over time.
update2.gif

Options: (prices in $US)
1a) 01-03 GT Air Dam --- $7
1b) 01-03 GT Air Dam + grille --- $8

2a) 01-03 GLS Air Dam --- $7
2b) 01-03 GLS Air Dam + grille --- $8

3a) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam and fogs --- $7
3b) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam and fogs + grille --- $8
3c) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam NO fogs --- $6
3d) 04-05 GT/GLS Air Dam NO fogs + grille --- $7

4) 10' of uncut mesh --- $6

You may add additional kits to your order for 1/2 price.
You may 'upgrade' to aluminum mesh for $2 more per kit.

Examples:
-- 1a shipped to Oregon = $7
-- 2b shipped to Toronto = $8
-- 3b+3b shipped to Cleveland = $12
-- 3c+upgrade shipped to Chicago = $8

Payment:
PayPal -- lydiasdad@yahoo.com (Sorry, no Credit or Debit card payments though.)

Please include your handle, car color, name, address, and what option(s) you want.

No PayPal? PM me -- I'll take a Money Order.

Kinda off topic, but is the stuff you bought aluminum or plastic? I can only find metal, and it is silver. Lookd at Ace, Lowes, and Home Depot.

Pretty sure it's the same stuff on my car and it's a black, flexible plastic. I also couldn't find it locally and had to order it online. I love it. Really easy to work with and does the job.

Gonzo is the guy who started the trend on his lower grill and I was the one who went one step further in "copying" him and added it to the upper grille too. thumbsup.gif

It's plastic mesh. Metal will work as well, it's just a little trickier to deal with. I had no luck finding it at Home Depot, but Lowe's had it. I did it to my lower and upper grilles, and I am very pleased with the results!

count me in for set 1b

you've gotta be kidding when you say this is expensive. $8 shipped???!! anywhere??!! wacko.gif who in the world wouldn't think that's a bargain??? question.gif

i'm happy to help subsidize shipping to my neighbors across the border if it means me getting insurance against another punctured condensor for $8. plus, it looks cool. innocent.gif

just one question-- i think you should be able to receive paypal payments regardless of how the sender tells paypal to withdraw funds. i.e., i should be able to paypal anyone with a paypal account, drawing on my bank account or credit card.

i'll send you a PM...

It is plastic, just like the stuff I used in the DIY.

Aaaaalllrightythen.

The info I see on PayPal's page says that I can't take credit or debit cards ... but withdrawals from bank accounts should be okay.

I'll update my first post.

I'm in for two of the 3b's. With the way our roads always are around here, it's only a matter of time until this will save a lot of heartache.

Thanks for thinking of us!
