Hey guys been a while. Cars been sitting as I put together the parts needed for the new project. Finally started to bring her back to life and began with a little TLC on those 7 year old Hyundai headlights.

If anyone is on the fence about restoring their lights, not sure if its worth it, I hope the following pictures help you out.

My lights were not horrible, but having old school HIDs and Florida sun for 7 years has done its toll. I showed my wife after they were done and almost got in trouble for buying new lights, they really are that good.

So, if your lights are a little dim and you are thinking about a cheap thing you can do in the garage this winter, run to walmart and get to restoring them lights.

Oh and hi and all that.

Did not work that great for me (and I followed the directions exactly, even took the light out of the car).
It helped, but they started hazing again within a week, and are now as bad as they were before.

Weird thing is, it is only my drivers side light that I am having an issue with, the Pass side is still very clear.

I have some 3M stuff I need to try.

Oh, and good to see you again. Been a while.

The instructions are a little vague in my opinion, I actually did the entire process about 3 times per light before I sealed it. I have gotten used to feeling things out over the years and the lights just didn't feel right in all areas with only one pass of the stepped up sanding discs. I sat there with the 2000grit (number 1, the green one) for about 30 minutes on each light, making sure that the entire thing was smooth to the touch.

Almost like a claybar with muscles really. I am hoping that the gel coat they provide does as well of a job within a week that it did off the bang, totally would suck if I get the dreaded worse from fixing known to happen sometimes.

I'll keep you posted in a week or so, give a better idea.

Its good to see multiple people tried it and unfortunately didn't work for you blu, but negative results are needed just as much really.

Didn't have much to add in the last two years, wife got a new mazda and I was driving the truck as the elantra sat, but parts are coming together so I'll unleash her again soon. Good to be around a bit again though, like visiting home from college again.

Yea, I did it twice before I sealed it. First time it just did not feel smooth, so I did it again.

The 3M kit I got has a drill bit attachment, so maybe it will do a better job.

Perhaps the damage is from moisture inside the light.
