Mr. Man (Mitch) found a glitch under my last username involving the apostrophe and how it interferred with some of the site's features. Thus, it was changed. This was awesome anyway because I wanted my name as my username and thought I had registered it incompletely when I originally applied to this site.

Hello all,
Just got my first Hyundai. It's a red Elantra GT. So far I like it a lot although its barely got over 200 miles run.
I washed, clayed & waxed it this weekend and installed OEM mud guards today.

Just bought a 2013 Elantra, and I found this place! I'm excited! I previously owned a 1997 Elantra, but it crapped out on me. It was a good car, though. Just bought my Elantra GLS sedan about 2 weeks ago. So far I LOVE it. the new ones all seem to have a common, but very minor issue with brakes. Mine was addressed yesterday. To make the situation better, I work at the Hyundai service department in my area, so I'm very knowledgeable about all Hyundais.

Hey everybody! I just bought myself a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS 4 door. It has a silver exterior and I LOVE THIS CAR! I used to own a 1997 Elantra, but it gave up on me last year. I owned a 2011 Accent for about a year, but traded up for this car about 2 weeks ago. I am 100% happy with it. Got the glazing taken off of my brakes yesterday, so no noises for me. I work at a Hyundai service department so my car is always taken care of. I also know a lot about every car that Hyundai sells. Looking forward to meeting you all and having lots of fun on here!

Hi all,
Just picked up a 2013 White Elantra GT 6-speed last night. It is the top model we can get in Canada with the 6-speed (tech package only availble on automatic - boo!).
I am coming from a 2003 Mazda Protege5, and I see this car as a great replacement for it, they are very similar in fact.
I have an Injen CAI en route from the US and ordered some 15 inch Michelin X-Ice Xi2's winters on alloys from Tire Rack that are also en route.
Besides the tinted windows, that is all I am gonna do to her.
The car is not as peppy as my old one at low RPM's, but I am hoping that the CAI will remedy some of that. It does handle pretty good and I am pumped for the great highway fuel economy.
I am looking forward to chatting with you all and seeing/hearing about your Elantra's.
Cheers!
Kris

My name is Paul and last week I bought a 2013 Elantra GLS. I live in Southern California and the gas mileage change from my F-150 has been amazing. Hope to find information about modding my car, and hopefully be able to share some knowledge along the way.
Thanks,

Hey there my name is Eric and I run AccentGlowLED. I have been very active on other Hyundai forums for the 2011-up Hyundai Sonata and just recently acquired an Elantra. For the Elantra I just launched an
LED Cup Holder Light Install Kit as a do-it-yourself modification. I have an extensive background in 12 volt electronics and recently achieved the ranking of
MECP Master . I hope I can use some of that knowledge to answer member questions and provide some nice tutorials. I try to make all of my posts as helpful as possible. Thanks for welcoming me and

Hello Everyone,
My name is Chad, I'm 31 and from Willis, TX. I work for GE and am happily married with a beautiful 4 month old daughter. This is my first time on this site, as well as being the first time I've bought a Hyundai. My wife owns a 2005 Tucson and we have had zero problems with it aside from normal wear and tear (over 100k miles and it has literally been all over the U.S., one battery replacement after 7 years and still on factory brake pads/rotors...tires are a different story altogether).
I am here because I recently purchased a 2013 Elantra GT after being unsuccessful with my first choice of the Veloster. Having a 4 month old child, my wife and I have deemed it necessary to have her in the center while rear-facing. Lacking a center rear seat voided any ambitions of getting the Veloster, as well as other similar vehicles like - Volvo C30, Mini Cooper, etc. So I was looking at the new Accent hatch before seeing this new Elantra hatch coming out. Needless to say I went with the Elantra.
I went with Hyundai's balloon financing, because I am unsure if I want to keep the Elantra GT or end up in a Veloster after our child becomes able to be forward-facing and in the side rear seats. However, I am really starting to like this car. While being my first Hyundai, this is also the first vehicle I have decided to try and follow the break-in requirements.
This is Atlantic Blue with the Style package. I LOVE the panoramic roof, and the aluminum pedals are pretty nice. The 3-flash turn signal is a nice little feature I have always lacked (funny that the first vehicle I get with this feature is a Hyundai). I wanted the nav and rear camera, but didn't want to spend that much more. Also wish I could've got the beige leather interior (wanted cloth in the first place but leather came with the roof) because Texas - gets - hot.
Here are the only pictures I have so far of the car (I know I need to take more):
Modifications planned:
- tint windows
- covercraft windshield sunshade (I think the sedan's will fit?)
- plastidip ALL chrome
- weathertech digital fit mats (I really want to swear these guys off because they won't make the digital fit mats for my other car, but I really like their stuff)
- LED bulbs throughout
Anyway, happy to be a proud new member to Hyundai and glad to be here! ::Cheers::

Greetings all from Fort Worth, Texas. I'm Jared, and just this evening I signed the papers on my silver 2013 Elantra Coupe 6-speed manual. I do outsourced IT for many dealerships around the country (and especially around the DFW area), so when it came time to replace my aged and practically falling-apart 95 Saturn SL2 workmobile, I shopped around with several of my clients looking for a vehicle that fit my desires and the limited budget I wanted to apply to my daily driver. I ended up at one of my Hyundai stores looking at a couple used vehicles they had in stock, and the sales manager convinced me to take this Elantra Coupe home for a couple days to see how I liked it. Well, considering I've now signed the papers, I guess his ploy worked!
I've gotta say, this car has really impressed me so far. On the drive home that first night from the dealership, I averaged 39.5mpg down a 45-mile stretch of VERY hilly highway, in pouring rain nonetheless, all while dealing with the usual mix of slow drivers and even yielding way for several firetrucks.. Yeah, interesting drive home. The features that come standard on this vehicle are pretty astounding considering the price point. The ride is phenomenal, and much quieter than many vehicles I've driven that are substantially more expensive. Hyundai has come so far in their build quality.
I leave out Sunday on a 1500 mile trek to Nebraska (YAY) for work. The equipment I'm having to take with me would have required filling the trunk and back seat of my Saturn - it all fit IN THE TRUNK of the new coupe, which again shocked me and many of my coworkers. I guess we'll see how well it performs on the long haul. It should be a great break-in drive!
Will post pics soon. I'm really excited about this vehicle. It's really a beautiful machine.

Car is great so far. BUT...........I have one regret already. The salesman touted the heck out of Hyundai being an American made car. Made in Alabama, blah blah, blah. I'm sure it's because he knew I worked at ArcelorMittal Steel, which supplies the AL plant with sheet metal. Well, the only 2013 Gray Limited was at a different dealer. He got it for us. We picked it up last Friday. He had the sticker folded nice and neat into a folder. And low and behold when I looked at the sticker this morning...this freakin car was built in Korea! Korea. Not United States of America. Korea....
One heck of a salesman. I would never have bought this Elantra if I knew that.

Hello everyone. I've just traded I for my first Hyundai, a 2013 Elantra GT. It's white and in Canada, the top of the line trim package is called the SE Tech package. I gave up my 'toy' of the last 8 years, a Toyota Matrix XRS, heavily modded! Was a blast to drive up to 8400 rpm's. I was an active member on the matrixowners.com site so will shift over here now. I don't really have plans for this car, being an automatic kinda takes all the fun out of it. But the stock 17" wheels might have to go, is that plastic chrome inserts on them? Looks cheap to me. Anyways, I'll post up pics once I finish vacation (boating for3 weeks).

Just picked up a 2013 Elantra Coupe GS, Volcanic Red, on Thursday. Man this thing is sharpe. Bought first "coupe" sold by dealer from whom purchased. I'm 60 and have had lots of cars. In fact, my other ride right now is a 2009 Azera (sweet). But I love this red color and overall look of this coupe. Hope I've done this correctly and if not please don't flame me too bad.

I've had my 2013 Elantra GLS about 2 weeks now and I just love it.
This is my first Hyundai and my first new car in quite a few years and I am really impressed.
I did a lot of research on the web the last couple of months and believe the Elantra is not only
the best car in it's class but when considering the total package of looks, features, construction, performance,
safety and fuel economy, the new Elantra is one of the best all-around cars sold today.
I look forward to hearing about the experiences of other owners.

I hail from South Africa I decided to join up as this seems to be best place to find any info on the Elantra HD.
I got a 2010 HD 1.6 and looking at doing a few mods and odds but finding any info or parts this side of the world is a ball ache.
So thank you all for the input you guys have done.

Hi everyone
Just figured i would take this opportunity to make my first post. I own a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Limited in Phantom Black Pearl with 29,000 happy kms on the clock and counting. I will include some pics that i have taken. As well i took delivery on my first mod yesterday, an weapon-r intake system, which i installed today so i will include those pics as well. That installation took me about 2hrs to do, however i must be honest in saying my mechanical aptitude is very low. I also must say what a difference it makes in both sound and response, many more happy kms to come!

Hello All,
I've been lurking here since February, when I was still in the market for replacing my poor abused hooptie: a 2000 Dodge Neon with constant mildew issues, temperamental windows, alignment problems, broken a/c, broken speakers (sound came out in mono), a giant gash down the side, and oh yeah neither of the back doors opened. (I joked that I should get more for my trade-in, since it was now a coupe ).
I took the leap in April and bought a 2012 Elantra Limited. I sort of wanted to hold out for a 2013 in Harbor Gray, but I'm glad I didn't wait. I have never viewed cars as anything more than a tool/annoyance before, but I think I'm in love with this one--I almost look forward to my commute.
I recently lost my mind and splurged on Weathertechs (before you ask, sorry, I used someone else's affiliate link. Next time!), as well as a Lexol leather/vinyl kit, a utility vac, a chamois, and a dash duster--I've never owned even the most basic car cleaning supplies. The rain was my carwash.
As I found myself conditioning every inch of the driver's seat last weekend, I realized I don't even know who I am anymore. I used to take pride in the aggressively dirty condition of my battle-hardened Dodge, feeling superior to those suckers who wasted precious weekend time detailing. Who's the sucker now? HELP GUYS I'M SERIOUS I CAN'T STOP
(Edit: Pics! Got lucky with a bit of sun this morning.)
More pics of the WeatherTechs coming when I get around to writing a review.

Well I've posted a few questions already in the MD section, but I never got around to introducing myself proper so here goes!
Traded in my '05 Ford F150 for a "new" 2011 Elantra. It's my first foreign auto and my first 4 banger, I was skeptical when the dealer pulled it out, but I'm loving it now! Do miss the truck for moving the bikes around, but I'm getting a beater for that soon.
The F150 I traded in:
And without further ado, the 2011 MD:
Sorry the pics are a bit blurry, the lighting wasn't that great and I forgot to turn the flash on my phone back on. I told myself I wouldn't let the mod bug bite me with this car, but I'm already scheming. First some nice tint, new rims, and audio; then the rest I'll have to figure out as I go. I'm just happy with how much gas mileage I'm getting! I loved the truck, but I drive around 350-500 miles on weekends usually heading back home from Fort Drum, the truck was getting only around 15 MPG highway if I laid off the throttle so it just wasn't cutting it

Hello all,
I just purchased a 2012 Elantra GLS with the preffered package, in red. So far i like it alot, but i'm coming off a 2011 Subaru WRX so it will take some time getting used to this kinda car. I'm actually kinda impressed with the pep of the lil engine, and the fuel economy is a big plus for me. The forum seems cool here and hopefully ill have the car awhile and learn from everyone.
Thanks,
Chris

Hello EC, I have been posting a little bit here and there. I am finally getting around to making this Welcome post thing. It took me forever to finally get up and take pics of my 2009 HD Avante/Elantra.
I am currently living in Tyler, TX for another three weeks. I will be moving to South Austin, TX. I am a former Marine Diesel Mechanic. I do all work myself except for transmission on this project.
I have already updated my mod list in my vehicle garage. NOW ONTO THE PICS. Feel free to ask any questions or PM me for details on anything.
