The consensus seems to be that the car has much improved steering, ride and handling. I'm surprised to see it still has drum brakes on the base model. The interior and exterior styling gets mixed reviews.

Road test with Hyundai CEO David Zuchowski as the passenger!

During the drive, Zuchowski says the upcoming Sport version not only has 200 horsepower but features an independent multi-link rear suspension versus the normal sedan's torsion beam setup. Stay tuned.

So does every Elantra made before 2007. Not sure why they would switch back for this model. I wouldn't think it would be very cost effective to produce two different rear suspension setups. Just put some stiffer dampers on the current rear suspension and call it a day...

Albert Biermann, Hyundai's new performance guru (formally of BMW) is behind this suspension change. I think Hyundai is serious about making the Sport model a real competitor of stuff like the Jetta GLI and Civic Si.
