I found an 09 Touring with less than 10k miles on it and had a closer look today. Carfax is clean just like the car and I was really tempted. The numbers are close but I have really gotten used to having no payments for a while. Downside would be losing the 10/100 warranty. I could get into a leftover similarly equipped O9 Optima or a plain Forte for similar money and have full warranty. Perhaps a day or two or another visit will get the numbers closer.

Discuss....

Great looking car, lots of utility, too.

As far as the Forte and Optima, are you looking for a vehicle with lots of cargo space or a sedan? confused-scratchhead3.gif

That's my favorite model. What's the price difference vs. new?

I'd love to take one and make it into a "eurosport" wagon. I love hot-hatches, but "hot-wagons" are even more awesome.

Nice color, nice wheels... nice price? The warranty has its price - just put the difference towards future powertrain repairs.

Looks good. The downside of this car is that the engine is a dinosaur. Newer (technology, not year number) cars will also have higher end transmissions.

I recommend that people look at Fortes or wait for the new Elantra.

All good points.....

They are about 3 grand off the price of new but I think we can get closer to 5 with some time.

The newer engine is the only thing the optima has for it. While the touring is just a newer style of what I already have with a powertrain I know. The interior dimensions of it are suprisingly similar to the egt.

I wasn't even in the market until I spotted this on the way to work the other day so I won't be upset if it doesn't work out.

3K off the the new price? Bring that price down my friend! Or have them include something in the price... Like accessories!

I like that model also! It has wicked wheels and love the tint job also! thumbsup.gif (goog thing I didn't miss putting the "N" in tint!)

My Touring with the wheels / seats / moonroof package cost me $19,600 new (with tax and delivery!). I have 6500 miles since June 2009. Most cars depreciate quickly. I'd think that $5K is the minimum they should slash from the new price paid.

It's a great car. The tight steering and above-average rear suspension are just as good as a Golf or Jetta. Automobile Magazine's June issue just reported that the Touring has been renewed in the USA through the 2012 model year. Too bad it is not getting the direct injection 2.0 engine heading to the new Elantra sedan (not until the next-generation i30 is introduced in Europe and Australia). But it is now a sales hit and Hyundai is keeping this European wagon in the States for a little while longer.

I personally would want some of the new technology. Also I'd want a better deal. it's got 10,000 miles on it. that should be a lot off the price.
