I admit, I should have given the Plasti Dip more time before insulting its quality. Apparently the curing process was not complete and every contact was showing up as a scuff. Now that it's been on for a couple weeks and I've had a chance to wash it by hand, I must say that it is some relatively durable stuff. I even accidentally found that WD-40 works as a kind of reactivator so you can smooth out imperfections. If it does last for more than a year, then I won't hesitate to simply respray the bumper with new material when the time comes. $7 a can sure beats $100's in paint.

Sorry to thread bump, but I'm eating my words AGAIN. Washed the car this past weekend and in the process of cleaning bugs off, the Plasti Dip is not holding up very good. Can't get some off crap and it's trying to blister and peel in other places.

My suggestion, use if for mock-up, but then get it painted with something permanent.
