> (MD/UD) Adding illumination to the glovebox , by silvergls
Options V

How-to with pics

With the passenger side door open, pull the door gasket away from the dashpanel's side.

With a trim tool or screwdriver, remove the passenger side dash panel end cap. It is held in with friction clips.

* * This can also be done by removing or lower the glovebox first (see below) and poking at it from the inside with a screwdriver or even your hand.... just be careful as the metal framing may be sharp! * *

Found under the end cap location, remove the screws for the glovebox and top trim.

Remove the top trim starting at the passenger side. Besides the side screw the rest is held in with friction clips.

Drop the glovebox, rotate and remove the 2 bump stops on each side.

Release the glovebox damper rod from the door found on the right side.

Lower the door and remove the 2 hinge pins by pulling inwards.

Remove the glovebox door from the housing.
Remove 5 screws (3 above the glovebox and 2 found behind) and the 2 10mm bolts at the bottom.

Glovebox housing can now be removed from the dash

Reinstalled:
Sunvisor light housing from the installed location

with led illumination
