I don't want to say anything 'for sure' yet, but all the kits should be shipped Friday.

I'll post up when I get 'the word'... =)

Sorry guys for delays here.. Been busy with family.. New nephew and all.. tongue.gif

So I haven't talked to 'the man' lately, but from previous chats they should have shipped on the 18th. I'll see if I can bug our handy andy tomorrow and get the lowdown. Rest assured tho, they'll be in your mailbox soon.. thumbsup.gif

Thanks again to everyone who stuck it out! Hopefully I'll get mine too before I start back to CA.. Anybody have some suggestions on a cheap yet good (i know, an oxymoron) cd player and a local place to nab one? DFW area TX. tongue.gif

Cite, I would stay away from "retail" they seem to just black tape things together and not really do a quality job. they also wont give you this headunit kit that everyone her got. They will just use your existing cubby. The installation is pretty easy once you get the adaptor harness. But if your not into doing it yourself, then i would suggest taking it to a local stereo installer if you have one and have a PRO do it.

Whoops... My bad.. Everyone should be receiving them this week so go out and buy your HU's so you can get your tunes thumpin this weekend.. B) I know I'm tryin to find something on the cheap 'till I can pay for the good stuff.. lol

Oh and here's a Q for ya.. Where can we find the harness adapters? Good ones tho.. lol And as Gel said, stay away from retail places.. Personally, I'd stay away from installers period. LSS, I took a Saturn SC2 to Al & Eds to have speakers put in, owner wanted the waranty so they had to install (BS imo), anyhow, they didn't do a quality job either. No dynamat, no adapter rings (6.5 in 7 space) and they hacked the factory connectors off.. Remember, Al & Eds is strictly a car audio/video place... I may buy stuff there cuz you can talk a deal, but never have anything installed.

Different for each stereo manufacture?? Umm, what was the place smokin that you went too? Harness adapters are nothing more then the factory connector prewired and tagged for you to splice the stereo harness to.. How can that vary with the stereo when wiring is standard. blink.gif

Wireing harnesses are all the same, it doesnt matter about brand. they serve one purpose. to make your stock wireing harness work with the aftermarket decks.

Gearcat! they actually charged you for the dash kit???? You can install an aftermarket head unit using the stock dash kit, there are screw holes right above the littly cubby box. the cubby and the radio share the same mounting brackets. I just had to install the wireing harness and use the screws from the old radio and screw the side brackets into the new cdplayer which has holes already in it for the mounting. Nothing more... hmmm

IF any of you want help installing your headunit into your new dash kit please give me a PM i have installed a few in my day and this new headunit kit your getting will ALSO have the mounting screw holes. Just plug, screw, and play!

Your right about them being different, ofcorse you have to get the correct harness for that spescific vehicle.. what i thought someone meant was which "brand" to get so they could have the best. and i just meant that all of them made for our car are the same quality, i can see them having any better plastic or something? sorry, latley i seem to not be explaining things well, part of my bi-polar i guess
