Brudder in laws Odessey van has crappy brakes , he was recently dinged for a major repair bill.
The leaky proportioning valve issue , how far back does it go? I think he has a 2007, but recently moved so warning bulletin may not have made it to him. Recent brake job wasn't dealer work. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

I have always liked the RSX Type S. Would be on a short list of cars if my car was totaled tomorrow and I couldn't buy the forte koup I'd prefer. I know there are well documented issues with the trannies on this car as well. What is your opinion? Are they still decent cars (not one that would be beat to death obviously).

Bob, resonator is shot on the 01 Integra. Should I cut in a resonator or try and go cat back? Is the resonator available on its own?

The resonator is called the "B-pipe" with Honda. It bolts directly off the rear of the car, and connects to the muffler. If the B-pipe is rusted through, it's only a short time before the muffler will be gone as well. It's not uncommon on them in the least, especially in salty states.
Now... Honda Mufflers come with Lifetime warranties so if you are keeping the car longterm it's worth the money if you like stock sound. If not, it'll be cheaper in the long run to go aftermarket cat-back. OEM parts locally will likely run you ~$450. -------------------- Founding Member of the Indiana Chapter of the Teeny Weeny Club for Secure Adult Males

I'll talk to her about it. She loves the car, but I don't how long we are going to keep it. You're right, once the mid pipe goes the muffler is next. I can get the Magnaflow cat back for $496-$30 coupon and just need the cat gasket.

Hey Bob, my girlfriend's MDX (it's an 02 or 03) makes a gnarly grinding noise when it's cruising. When I let off the gas it goes away, but it inevitably comes back.
Is this the transmission going? I remember you saying that these transmissions are already pushed to the edge of what they're capable of. It has been happening for a couple of years now. It doesn't happen on mine (which is an 01). Any suggestions? -------------------- |
