The Sport will be the Elantra's top of the line model according to Hyundai execs.
Keeping in mind that the existing top of the line 2017 Elantra Limited Ultimate lists for almost $28,000...
The Sport will be priced as high as $30,000. Yikes.
I think Hyundai is making a mistake pricing it higher than the big boys like the GTI and Focus ST. Now, if they had undercut those models by a grand or two...
I mean, honestly, the 1.6T with 200 hp and 195 lb./ft. of torque pales in comparison to what is offered in those competing models or something like the WRX. The upcoming Civic Si is expected to arrive with something like 230-250hp. I guess we'll see how it all plays out in the marketplace. Too bad Hyundai doesn't consult me on these things!
