I'm organizing a Bay Area Meet this means anyone from the east bay(oakland, berkley, all the way through pinole/hercules/concord/martinez), west bay (San Francisco), Northbay (Santa Roasa, Napa, sonoma, marin), Southbay (San Jose, Daly City, Santa Clara), or the penninsula (San Mateo, Palo Alto)
Chime in if you live in this area. It might be fun to make our excursion to the napa valley to sip wine and eat cheese while we chat.

I'm pretty sure that I will be driving down to San Diego to spend spring break with my family. I'll also spend a day or two up in Carlsbad kissing butts to try to find an internship for the summer. In the meantime, I would like to meet up with the crew down there! I'll probably be able to meet up sometime between the 26th and 29th of March. I look forward to meeting you guys (and gals)!

i was in san diego last week for my work and got to meet up with popeye. it was dark already so not much car comparing (although i must say his silver, er ah sterling elantra was shining nicely). we got some good grub and some coronas at the red fox steak house...
i had a conference to be at early in the AM and pops had his big move to prepare for, so we didn't have time for more craziness...
pops is an upstanding guy... next time anyone is in SD i suggest you hook up with him!
btw, while i was there, i hooked up with a base mazda6 rental... surprisingly competent for a base mid-size car: 2.3L 160hp 4cyl (same motor in my 3), 17" rims with 215/50VR17 rubber, and a pretty stiff and competent suspension. the 4cyl with auto was kind of anemic as one might expect, but at least the shiftronic manu-matic auto worked well.

Southpaw made the trek out to San Diego yesterday on business and suggested a get together. After clearing my mucho busy schedule, we met at the ever popular Red Fox Room in Anton's old haunt of North Park for some beer, seared meat and some form of potato.
We did not solve anything or find world peace, but we did admit our addiction to forums and this one in general. We discussed an Elantraclub 12 step program briefly but the beer began to cloud our thinking...
Southpaw's a smart and talented guy and it was a pleasure to hang with him, even if he does drive a Mazda . Naturally I'll say anything glowing about him as the meal was on him or rather his company Thanks again Anton!

Last week I had the pleasure of having dinner with Geoelectric. He has the 07 HD. Pretty cool guy. He had this gleam in his eyes of how he was gonna slowly transform his HD by modding............ he has that excitement that was a pleasure to note about his HD and how much he liked it. Soooooooooooo, anyhoo it was a pretty good meeting and discussed matters of the world and we did solve the world-hunger issues, solved the economic failures, talked a lot about the eclub and he mentioned how much it has impacted him in buying this car and is looking forward to many posts of his car. I guess I have to thank Mitch for putting this club together. Oh, by the way I did say that Bobzilla is really a Cooooooooool dude.......... So thank you geoelectric for taking time to meet with me.

Having a disability is not cheap. I know this for a fact. I'm able to use *regular* stuff, but some people need specialized equipment and accessability *mods* that run into big bucks.
This is Eric:
I met Eric at a friends 50th wedding anniverary several years ago (my mother and his great aunt Carolyn were best friends). I also tested Eric for computer technology assistance and found not much except custom fabricated switches and laser pointer equipment best suited him to *talk*. Eric is non-verbal, but is able to keep up in regular classes in his middle school. The software and hardware I designed for him allows him to communicate easily with peers and whoever he chooses to talk to.
His parents need to modify their house to accomodate Eric's needs. This can be very expensive. A local high school student who also attends Clark County Skills Center in Vancouver WA decided to help out to figure a way to help with the home remodel.
This website was created for a auction to assist the family in the remodel process.
The home is non-wheelchair accessible and the plans are to create:
Bedroom and bathroom to fit Eric's wheelchair including an electric hoyer lift
Wider doorways
Wider hallways
Leveling off the landscape so no ramp is needed
Redoing entrance of the home
The hoyer lift is at least $3,000 for a basic unit. What is suggested is one that has a track on the ceiling in the bedroom through the bathroom, which is 3 times the cost of the basic unit.
I hope I can make the auction. Haven't seen Eric since he was 8.

August 26th 9 AM-5 PM is the annual Lemay car show/open house. Cost is 10 bucks a person and this includes cars. If anybody wants to come, the easiest way is to come to my house at 7:45-8:00 and we can ride in as a group (they want us to come in together).

Whats up guys, my name is Jake and ive been on the forums for a while. I live in Las Vegas, NV and Im going to try and start up a hyundai movement! Anyone with a hyundai in the Las Vegas area is welcome. No meet time or anything yet, but its something I want to get started. I have a lot of hopes an aspirations which could eventually turn out to be something really good for both the elantra and hyundai community. I even wanna try and work with some of the shop owners I know and maybe even develop aftermarket car parts that we've all been looking for and just cant get! Call me if you're interested cause Im going to try and get a website together and a meeting time and place. 702 686 5345

so, any of you modders out there ski or board? me and a friend will be at the lake tahoe resort the end of feb begining of march for our yearly snowboard trip. anyone there interested in meeting up would deffinately be cool. went to jackson hole WY. last year and had a blast. this year lake tahoe, next year whistler BC. so if anyone is in the area or wants to also plan a trip out there and meet up, that would deffinately be sweet.
i know its like WAY early to think about snow, but winter is my time off from modding the car. so i look forward to it.
