Well, this is a rarity... me posting about a mod. Lack of money and my wife's health issues have put an end to mod "career".
But this one was out of necessity. The clearcoat on my Forte's door handles has been peeling off and it was looking like crap. Might have been my fault considering I haven't detailed the car in like forever. The Kia paint warranty is only 3 years so I was probably SOL on that so...
I ordered a set of carbon fiber look door handle covers off Ebay and they not only covered the defects but look sporty and compliment the cars DiNoc carbon fiber door pillars.

Looks good, gt.

thats pretty sweet lookin.
Nice mod.
Lookin good man.
I dig it. How long did it take you to do them all?
About 15 minutes. Easy mod.
Looks good. Kinda sucks the clear is coming off on such a new car.
Goes with the orange nicely!
Thanks guys. They really look even better in person. I'm thinking of carbon fiber wrapping the grille next.
What year is yours? My '10 still looks good on the handles and I've waxed it once in the 38k miles and 2 years I've put on it (53k on the car).
Same year. I can't believe how the clearcoat just peeled off. The rest of the car is great. Only the handles were affected.
HUH. that's weird. I would expect that mine would because of my acidic sweat.
A couple of people over on forteforums have had the same issue. I guess I'm one of the "lucky" few.
all that testosterone mitch. you manly manly man man.
bobs a radioactive lizard without sweat glands in his hands. so he's good.
Hey, all the rental instruments I used they required me to wear gloves when I played because in just a few days my hands/fingers would eat the finish right off.
My wife's Nissan Versa had the same issue with the clear coat on the handles.
I was going to fix it but she traded it in instead. I wouldn't recommend it as an inexpensive mod. :-)
^^^ hahahaha
Those do really look good on the car! Nice choice for an inexpensive fix!
