I have a 2012 Elantra Limited. I was VERY unhappy with the suspension on our rough Michigan roads. The back end was very 'hoppy' with a distinct shift to the right when going over the never-ending bumps/joints in our Michigan freeways. I have driven hondas and subarus and never had a vehicle feel so skittish on rough roads - downright scary - especially when you combine the handling with slippery road conditions.
Based on some good posts here, I chose to take the relatively inexpensive upgrade of the rear shocks (KYB Gas-A-Just) ordered from Parts Geek. Just had them installed today. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Seriously. Dramatically reduced bounce on bumps. Eliminated the 'pull to the right' on bumps. Quieter. Etc.. Now I'm wondering if I should upgrade the front suspension (struts?) as well... In summary, if you're not happy with the handling of your 2011+ Elantra, I'd encourage you to make the simple upgrade to the KYBs. -------------------- A proud member of the club.

Hey-When new, I pushed my '11 Elantra on a curvy road and discovered the rear suspension was way too soft. The Sach shocks and rear sway bar on my '13 GT make the car ride vastly better now. I can really move thru a freeway interchange ramp with this car.

Welcome to the club and congrats on fixing that rear end hop! I don't think replacing the front will be as noticeable as a difference as the rear, but I'm sure it would improve the handling. You also could look at adding a strut bar or improved tires if you are looking to further enhance the handling of the car too.
